Couples Therapy
Pregnancy and the postpartum period bring profound changes, not only to your body and mind, but also to your relationship. Sleep deprivation, shifting roles, and the pressures of parenting can make even the strongest partnerships feel strained. Add the daily demands of work and home, and it’s easy to lose sight of each other.
Couples therapy with Mom Works offers a space to reconnect, repair, and grow together- through all seasons of life.
Strengthening your relationship through life’s biggest transitions.
Our Specialties
We support your partnership and your mental health and wellness through stress, anxiety, ADHD through a emotion-focused and mind body lens.
We also have additional expertise in the following areas:
Pregnancy and Postpartum Transitions
The shift into parenthood can bring joy as well as stress, exhaustion, and identity changes. We support couples through pregnancy and postpartum adjustments, helping you stay connected as partners while caring for your growing family.
Co- and Self-Regulation
Strong relationships start with emotional balance. We’ll work on practical self-regulation skills so both partners can manage stress, respond with intention, and create calmer, more compassionate interactions.
Positive Communication
Healthy communication is the foundation of a thriving relationship. Together, we’ll explore tools to express needs clearly, listen with empathy, and resolve conflict without losing connection.
Intentional & Values Centered Parenting
Parenting often tests patience and teamwork. We help couples align their approaches, clarify shared values, and bring more intention into parenting so family life feels more supportive and less overwhelming.
Trust and Values Realignment
Relationships evolve, and sometimes it benefits partners to reconnect around what matters most. We’ll guide you in rebuilding trust, clarifying values, and creating a shared vision that supports both partners.
Neurodivergent Focused Relational Concerns
ADHD and other forms of neurodivergence can shape the way partners connect, communicate, and share responsibilities. We offer a neurodivergent-affirming space to explore challenges and strengths, so your relationship feels more balanced, supportive, and understood.

What Can I Expect in Couples Therapy?
How is couples therapy structured?
At Mom Works, we are a solution-focused therapy practice. Meaning, we prioritize and value identifying your goals and the prior obstacles to reaching them, as well as the skills and tools to meet them. We meet for a 6-8 session model that prioritizes your joint goals and lays a clear path forward. It is an option to extend beyond the 6-8 session model if preferred.
Is couples therapy only for us if we’re in crisis?
Not at all. While couples come to us during conflict or disconnection, couples also come in other seasons of their relationship to strengthen communication, prepare for parenthood, or align on parenting values. Couples therapy is just as much about growth and a foundation as it is about repair.
How long does it take to see change?
Every couple is unique and our goal is to give you tools you can start practicing right away, while also guiding you toward deeper, lasting changes.
What if my partner is hesitant about therapy?
That’s very common. We encourage partners to see therapy as a supportive, non-judgmental space where both voices are valued.
Couples Therapy with Mom Works
Our goal is not only to help you get through challenges, but to help you build a resilient, intentional partnership, one that supports you as parents and as individuals. By fostering empathy, clear communication, and emotional balance, couples therapy creates a foundation for a stronger relationship and a healthier family dynamic.
You don’t have to navigate these changes alone. Together, we’ll help you and your partner feel seen, supported, and united.
